The ground was starting to get crusty while walking in the cold wind at dusk, confirming that the temperature had dropped below freezing.

Instead of the usual walk, I stood on the dike of the Connecticut River in Hadley, watching the changing world of the sky. These photographs are the first of my Snapshot Series, where I will be taking average shots of the landscape and making them look as good as I can.
